TOWNSHIP ASSISTANCE
In addition to providing fire protection and medical aid, the Township
Trustee's Office provides a service unlike any other unit of government
called
Township Assistance. Township Assistance is a program that allows those
unfortunate residents in Perry Township, who are suffering financial
hardship, the opportunity to apply for relief of their need(s) for food,
clothing, shelter, and medical. Many refer to this type of service as
Temporary Assistance because it is provided as a temporary or short-term
remedy to those in need. Those individuals and families who apply for this
assistance must prove that they are unable to provide those needs through
personal effort and that they have exhausted all other means. Those who do
not meet the requirements are referred to other programs and provided with a
list of surrounding community resources.
Perry Township strives to provide assistance in the most economical means
possible by facilitating partnerships with local church's and charitable
organizations in the community. We, in Perry Township, call onto these
organizations to assist our efforts in providing services to those in need
to supplement the use of tax money in addition to fill needs we are unable
to provide.
